Placido Domingo has resigned as director of the Los Angeles Opera amid reviews of sexual misconduct.
The tenor lately stepped down from a position at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and now he has quit his duties in California, revealing he is exiting the place he has held considering the fact that 2003 in the „greatest interests of L.A. Opera“.
20 gals have come ahead in latest months, accusing Domingo of misconduct and harassment. He has denied the allegations and intends to preserve fighting them.
In a statement to the Los Angeles Situations, the opera celebrity insists the promises built against him have „designed an atmosphere in which my skill to provide this enterprise that I so enjoy has been compromised“.
Meanwhile, Domingo’s spokeswoman has termed the allegations in Related Push articles or blog posts „merely incorrect“.
„The ongoing marketing campaign by the AP to denigrate Placido Domingo is not only inaccurate but unethical,“ Nancy Seltzer states. „These new claims are riddled with inconsistencies and, as with the first story, in numerous methods, only incorrect.
„Thanks to an ongoing investigation, we will not comment on details, but we strongly dispute the deceptive photo that the AP is trying to paint of Mr. Domingo.“
